Following its previous sustainability successes, NH Hoteles went on to set itself even more energy-saving objectives. When it came to refurbishing 90 of its rooms and the lighting systems in its car park, main corridors and lobby areas, LED was the obvious choice. The hotel tested a number of products and of brands to determine the best solution.

Philips LED came out on top. For the car park, Philips MASTER LEDtube was chosen to create safe visibility levels for drivers. The rooms, corridors, lobby area, restaurant and cafeteria were lit with Philips MASTER LEDspot GU10. This ground-breaking LED spot light creates a welcoming ambience, and can be dimmed to fit different locations and occasions.

The new hospitality lighting has met all requirements. The long lifetime of LED makes it perfect for lobby lighting, as illumination is required 24 hours a day. The new system has dramatically reduced energy consumption, and maintenance costs for the lights are almost down to zero. LED-based technology is now being rapidly adopted throughout this global hotel chain.
