Read More Ong Swee Hong (Miss) Swee Hong holds a Masters in Arts (Architecture) from the School of Architecture, National University of Singapore. As an accomplished professional, Swee Hong has a keen interest in urban lighting design and has produced a paper on ‘Design Basis for Quality Urban Lighting Masterplanning’ as part of her post-graduate thesis for the National University of Singapore Research Scholarship. She was involved in the conceptualization of the lighting masterplan for various international projects, like the Marina Bay Sands Singapore Integrated Resort Exterior Lighting Masterplan, 78 Shenton Way, Burj Dubai Old Town lighting, and several projects of different scales and genre.
In her personal time, Swee Hong participates actively in various international publications and conferences, and is an avid lecturer on lighting design. With the vision to spread the awareness on lighting design, Swee Hong constantly seeks out collaborations with various designers and industry movers to educate the public on the beauty of light in space and to spread the awareness on how light can transform forgotten public spaces.
In 2010, Swee completed a series of projects and most notably, the Singapore Guerrilla Lighting Student Workshop (jointly organized with Light Collective UK, sponsored by URA AUDE Funding programme, Technolite (S) Pte Ltd, 3M Singapore, OSRAM and Philips Lighting).
She is currently working on a series of research integrated projects that links night cities to its cultural and geographical context. With effect from 1 July 2011, Swee Hong is Director of Lighting Consultancy division at multi-disciplinary firm, ONG&ONG.
VIVID Sydney is now in its 3rd year and is the largest festival of light, music and ideas in the Sydney, Australia. It features events every night from 6pm – including 45 light installations plus projections by local & international artists, family events, live music, creative ideas, public talks – around Circular Quay, The Rocks and the Sydney’s Opera House. Sparc, as part of the Vivid Sydney Festival is a very unique way to bring the community into the Sydney city center during the winter months. Circular Quay has always been a tourist hotspot, the Opera House is an icon of Australia. Now with the added element of Light Art the area has been transformed.  Read more Nigel D’Acre Having worked in Hong Kong, Ireland, New York, Shanghai and now Singapore, Nigel has true global experience in the lighting and construction industry. He is frequently invited to speak at industry events and workshops throughout the region, and was instrumental in building the Color Kinetics APR strategy. This experience enabled him to engage and educate designers throughout Asia, not only on the benefits of Color Kinetics, but also how to best use and control this new and exciting technology. Nigel’s work with LED Lighting continues within Philips, helping to drive LED adoption.
